Weekly Notes

6-1 Angles & Radian Measure:
  • This section had three learning goals. First, I learned how to do conversions of degree measurements to radians, and vice versa. To convert to radians, you multiply the angle measure by pi/180. To convert radians to degrees, you multiply the angle measure by 180/pi.
  • Next, we also learned how to find arc length, s, which is the radius times the central angle.
  • Lastly, we learned how to find the area of the sector which is the product of (½)(radius-squared)(angle).

Monthly Reflections

December 2009
My learning goal this month was to learn how to graph trigonometric functions: sine, cosine, tangent, cotangent, cosecant, and secant. I am getting more comfortable with graphing and finding equations for graphs. It is very helpful for me to identify the parts of the function, then I can easily find the amplitude, period, phase shift, vertical shift, the starting point and end point for the graph of one period.
